SPEAKING THE WORD AND
RESISTING THE DEVIL
In this lesson,
you will learn that speaking the Word is part of the armor of God. Jesus spoke
the Word of God when He was tempted by the devil. To resist the devil you must
submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
I.
Speaking
the Word is part of the armor of God.
A.
Ephesians
6:17 – “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is
the word of God.”
B.
Speak
God’s Word to activate this piece of your armor.
II.
Jesus
spoke the Word of God – Matthew 4:4-10.
A.
When
Jesus encountered the devil, He spoke God’s Word and said, “It is written.”
1. Verse 4 – “But He answered and said, ‘It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by
every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”’”
2. Verse 7 – “Jesus said to him, ‘It is
written again, “You shall not tempt the Lord your God.”’”
3. Verse 10 – “Then Jesus said to him, ‘Away
with you, Satan! For it is written, “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.”’”
B.
Jesus
quoted the Word of God and so should we.
III.
Speaking
the Word and resisting the devil.
A.
James
4:7 – “Therefore submit to God. Resist
the devil and he will flee from you.”
1. Your faith will be to the degree of your
understanding the Word and understanding authority.
2. God releases authority to those who come
under authority.
B.
Revelation
12:11 – “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of
their testimony.”
C.
Scriptures
you can speak to overcome in your life.
1.
Fear
– 2 Timothy 1:7.

Sickness
– Isaiah 53:4-5.

– Philippians 4:19.

out scriptures and begin to speak them daily to resist the devil so he will
flee from you.
SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE: James 4:7 – “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
