THE SPIRIT OF FAITH

In this lesson, you will learn the basis of our faith is according to what is written in God’s Word. Faith changes things to line up with the word of God.

I. Second Corinthians 4:13 – “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak.”

A. Romans 10:17 – “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

B. I believe and therefore I speak – faith comes by God’s Word, dreams, visions, believing and speaking the Word of God.

II. God spoke the world into existence – Genesis 1, Romans 4:17.

A. Genesis 1 – “And God said….”

B. Romans 4:17 – “Calls those things which do not exist as though they did.”

C. God called Abram – Abraham – father of nations.

III. The process - Joshua 1:8.

A. God’s thoughts – from His Word.

B. Dreams and visions – His Spirit speaks to you.

C. Believe in your heart.

IV. Four things God said believers are to do – Genesis 1:26-28.

A. To have dominion – authority.

B. Be fruitful – successful, prosperous.

C. To multiply – increase.

D. To subdue the earth.

V. God’s strategies for your faith victories.

A. Exodus 14:13-18 – God told Moses to divide the sea and God backed up his actions.

B. Job 22:28 – “You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you.”

C. Matthew 12:34 – “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

• When did you learn that the basis of our faith is the Word of God?
• Are you calling those things which do not exist as though they did in your life?
• Share a testimony on how you are taking authority, being fruitful, multiplying, and subduing the earth.

BE A DOER OF THE WORD

This week write out some scriptures for things you want to see change in your life. Begin to speak forth what God’s Word promises and begin to see those circumstances change.
