THE INHERITANCE MAKES A DIFFERENCE – PART 4

In this lesson, you will learn of the difference the inheritance makes and that you receive the inheritance by faith in Jesus.

I.                    The inheritance makes a difference – Romans 8:16-17.

A.     Romans 8:16-17 – “We are children of God, and if children, then heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.”

B.     There are two covenants.

1.        Old Testament – God, Abraham, and his seed.

2.        New Testament – Father and His Son Jesus.

3.        We have a better covenant with better promises – Hebrews 8:6.

C.     We receive our inheritance by faith in Jesus.

1.      We believe God, speak His Word, and act on it. What we receive will be according to our faith.

D.     The difference will be obvious for those who receive by faith the inheritance of God’s blessings and those who do not.

1.      God wants to bless us so we can be a blessing to others.

2.      The purpose is for us to show compassion; to help others receive hope, peace, joy, provision, confidence, love, strength, and wisdom.

II.                 How the inheritance went from generation to generation.

A.     Genesis 24:1 – “The Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.”

B.     Genesis 26:1-6, 12-14 – Isaac sowed in the time of famine, then God sent rain, the crops grew in the land, and the power of famine was broken.

C.     Genesis 31:4-9 – Jacob was blessed and prospered.

D.     Genesis 39:2-5 – Joseph was successful and prospered and God’s blessing was on him.

III.               Light versus darkness – Exodus 10-11.

A.     Exodus 10:22-23 – When darkness fell on the Egyptians, the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

B.     Exodus 11:4-7 – When death came to the Egyptian children, the Israelite children lived.

C.     What we have seen in the past we will see in the future. When we begin to see end-time events it is not the time to have fear but it is time for the Church to become the answer (Matthew 24).
