GROWING INTO MATURITY – PART 5

JESUS FLOWING THROUGH YOU

In this lesson you will learn from the scriptures how Jesus flows through you.  It is time to demonstrate the gospel in your daily life.

I. How Jesus flows through you.

A. God planned for us to be channels of His blessing. He pours in us all of His salvation, love, wisdom, forgiveness, goodness, victory, and healing.  He doesn’t wants it to stop, but wants it to keep flowing through us to other people. 

II. Scriptures on Jesus flowing through you.

A. Colossians 1:27 – “Which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” He is not only our hope of glory but the hope of glory to those around us. For many people you are the only Jesus they are going to see.   

B. Colossians 2:9-10 – “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him.” All the fullness of the Godhead is on the inside of you.

C. John 10:10 – “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

D. John 14:21-23 – “We will come to him and make Our home with him” – v. 23.  When you accepted Jesus, the fullness of God came inside of you.

E. 1 John 4:4 – “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

F. 1 Corinthians 6:17-20 – “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him…your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit” – vv. 17,19. God views you as His temple.

III. Be a reflection and a demonstration of Jesus wherever you go.

A. God has called you to be a minister of His gospel and He has equipped you with everything you need – the power of His Spirit, and His Life on the inside of you. It is time to let Him out and loose the life that is in you!

1. John 7:37-39 – “Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water” - 38.

2. Acts 3:6 – “What I do have I give you.”

3. 2 Corinthians 5:14 – “For the love of Christ compels us.”

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

• When did you begin to understand “Christ in you, the hope of glory”?
• Do you ask for opportunities for Jesus to flow through you to hurting people?
• Share a recent experience of being a reflection of Jesus in your daily life.

BE A DOER OF THE WORD

This week begin the process of letting Jesus flow through you on a daily basis. Begin to meditate on the scriptures in this lesson and speak them to yourself on a daily basis. Speak the Word with thanksgiving and praise.
