MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB

In this lesson you will learn how to have expectation, anticipation, and be prepared for the Lord’s coming and also how to prepare others for the marriage supper of the Lamb.

 

I.                    Letter to the seven churches – Revelation 1-3.

A.     Revelation 1:1 – The progression of the revelation was from God, to His Son Jesus, to the angel, to John, and then to the seven churches.

B.     Revelation 1:3 – Rewards if you do three things: read and hear the words of this prophecy, and keep (or obey) those things which are written in it.

C.     Revelation 2-3 – These chapters are to the seven churches, and they give rebuke and warning and also list rewards for the overcomers.

 

II.                 What John saw in heaven – Revelation 4-5.

A.     Revelation 4:1 – “After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.’”

B.     Revelation 4:2-11, 5:1-14 – John describes heaven.

C.     1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 – “The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” – vv. 16-17.

 

 

III.               The tribulation period on earth – 1 Thessalonians 5:1-9; Revelation 6-18.

A.     The believer is in heaven at this time when God pours out His wrath and judgments on the Antichrist and the whole system of false worship.

B.     1 Thessalonians 5:1-9 – “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ” – v. 9.

C.     Revelation 6:17 – “For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

 

IV.              Marriage supper of the Lamb – Revelation 19:1-9.

A.     “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready” – v. 7.

B.     “Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!” – v. 9.
