In this lesson you will learn what it means to be redeemed. God's will
is for you to receive the blessings, not the curses, and to possess the
promises of God through faith in Christ.
- We have been redeemed.
- Galatians 3:13,14 - "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree')."
- "Redeemed" means purchased back into freedom, out from slavery, out from Satan's kingdom into God's Kingdom.
- We were redeemed or purchased, not with silver and gold, not with money, but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
- The highest price that could have been paid for us was the blood of Christ.
- The blessings and the curses - Deuteronomy 28.
- Deuteronomy 28:1-14 - These blessings will come upon you if you obey God's commandments.
- Deuteronomy 28:12,13 - You are to be the lender and not the borrower. The lender is the head and the borrower is the tail. Don't accept debt as a way of life! There are no limits to God's provision for your life.
- Deuteronomy 28:15-68 - These curses of sin, sickness, destruction, lack, and poverty will come upon you if you are disobedient to God's commandments.
- Possess the promise of the blessing through faith.
- Genesis 12:1-3, 24:1 - You will be blessed in all things.
- Galatians 3:26-29 - A will goes into effect when a person dies. When Jesus died we became an heir and through faith we receive the promises of God.
- Proverbs 10:22 - "The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it."
- Hebrews 6:13,14 - "Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you" (v. 14).
