Kazakhstan Victory Outreach 2006
Karaganda, Kazakhstan
November 12th-18th, 2006
"We Serve a God of Miracles"
The Victory Missions Team recently ministered in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. It is the third most populous
city in Kazakhstan. Karaganda is an industrial city, originally built to exploit nearby coal mines using
the slave work of prisoners of labor camps. Today coal and oil continue to be a source of revenue for this
fairly new country which separated from the former Soviet Union in 1991.
The people are beautiful and are a mixture of Russian, German, Korean and Chinese descent. The evening Victory
Celebration services opened each night with great praise and worship and traditional Kazakh dancers in beautiful
national costumes.
Pastor Sharon ministered in song with music videos that moved and encouraged the Kazakh
people. Many of the songs and choruses she was able to sing in Russian.
Pastor Billy Joe ministered the message of salvation and taught on healing and miracles. The people streamed forward
to receive Jesus, and then participated in prayer for each other for healing miracles. Those attending received a copy of
This New Life
in Russian to help them continue to grow.
There were many exciting testimonies as people came forward to celebrate the miracles they experienced. A
grandfather brought his grandson, Sasha who had been born with club feet. The little boy had recently had surgery
on one foot and had always walked crooked and always complained of pain in his feet. After prayer little Sasha said,
"Papa, my feet don't hurt anymore." When they came forward to testify the little boy walked straight. The grandfather
removed Sasha's boot and sock to show the recent surgery scar. As he pulled of the sock he exclaimed, "It's not here!
The scar is gone! It has disappeared completely!" Pastor Billy Joe declared that Sasha will forever remember the night
in November, 2006 in Karaganda, when his feet were miraculously healed.
A little girl named Katya came forward to testify that she was able to hear without the hearing aids she had worn since
she was 2 or 3 years old. In testing her hearing, Pastor Billy Joe had her repeat the salvation prayer. Katya received
Jesus the same night she received her healing.
One of the most touching miracles was a 16 year old girl named Zhenya. She
had cerebral palsy. She came up on the platform to testify that she was no longer drawn up like she had been and she was
able to unfold her legs and hands. When Pastor Billy Joe asked her to show the audience how she had been before she said,
"I can't do that anymore." Pastor then asked her if she could raise her arms above her head and praise the Lord. Zhenya
hesitated, and then tried to raise her arms. She was very excited to find that she was able to raise her hands above her
head and thank God for her healing. She then began walking back and forth across the platform, the audience rejoicing with
her for the healing and freedom she was experiencing.
The Pastor's and Leadership Conference was attended by many of the Pastor's under the leadership of our host pastor,
Bishop Kim of Grace Church. It also provided materials and training for Pastors and Leaders from all over Kazakhstan. Each
person attending was given a syllabus, materials, This New Life (in Russian) and a pen.
The Women's Conference was packed with women sitting with syllabuses and pens in hand, hungry to hear the Word of the
Lord. Pastor Sharon ministered on You Are Valuable. There was much healing and hope ministered to the women that day.
Victory partners and friends had contributed to colorful gift bags that were given to the women. They contained beautiful
scarves, cologne and makeup samples and pens, all gratefully received.
The Kazakhstan trip was one of the most difficult trips physically and financially that Victory has done. However, it was
also one of the most profitable for the Kingdom of God and for the lives of the people touched by the ministry there. Thank
you, Victory friends and partners for your help in reaching out with the compassion and love of Jesus to the precious people
of Karaganda, Kazakhstan.
