Haiti Victory Celebration 2006
Puerto Prince, Haiti
October 18-22, 2006
"Jesus is Lord over Haiti"
The Victory Missions Team ministered in Carrefour, Port au Prince, Haiti the week of October 18-22.
Haiti has been labeled the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Pastor Daugherty taught the
people to declare the blessings of God over their country and prayed with them for the curse of
poverty to be broken and for healing in their land.
Hundreds streamed forward each night in response to the salvation altar call. Over 150,000 "This New
Life" books in their language were given during the crusades. Pastor Sharon ministered in song and sang
several songs in Creole. With the words on the big screen in their language, soon the entire field of
thousands was singing along with her songs like "He's A Healing Jesus" and "There Can Be Miracles".
A touching moment came when a man who had been unable to speak for over three years was able to speak. He
began by praising God for his freedom. Pastor Billy Joe then handed him the microphone and asked him to
extend his hand and pray for others that needed miracles.
One lady had, had a crippled leg that she had to drag along as she walked. She started jumping, dancing and
praising God. The praise team led the thousands rejoicing in a jubilant song that repeated in Creole...
"Jesus, Jesus, it’s Jesus that did it... it was Jesus... Jesus, Jesus, Jesus."
The Leadership Conferences, held at Bishop Joel Juene's compound, were packed out daily as men, women, and
children sat for hours to hear the Word. Each person attending was provided with a study syllabus in Creole
to go along with the teaching. Each man attending was also given a tie.
Preparation for the Women's Conference included loading 2,500 colorful gift bags with scarves, sample size
personal items, and pens. The Victory Team was overwhelmed when over 5,000 women crowded into the open building
for the afternoon conference. As with all the ministry and outreaches in Haiti, the response of the women to
the message of the Gospel and their value in Jesus Christ was wonderful.
