Dominican Republic Victory Outreach 2007
San Pedro, Dominican Republic
March, 2007
Pastors Billy Joe and Sharon Daugherty, forty-seven youth, and fortyfive
adults teamed up to make a difference in San Pedro, Dominican Republic.
The Dominican Flag is the only national flag in the world with a Bible in
the center ? it is open to John 8:32 "...and you shall know the Truth and
the Truth shall set you free."
The Youth Teams ministered in the streets, schools, orphanages and medical
outreaches as well as the nightly Celebrations. They ministered in dramas,
youth band music and practical ministry throughout the week. Three
medical doctors, several nurses, and one dentist blessed the people with
free surgeries and medical clinics. Over 1,500 patients were treated in
the four day outreach and 13 patients received major surgeries free of
charge. One of the clinics was held in the poorest area of San Pedro. The
people lined up for hours to see the doctors. Children outnumbered the
adults four to one. Many received much needed antibiotics and parasite
medications.
The Leadership Conference blessed the pastors, leaders, and families with
much needed printed materials. They were served a wonderful Dominican meal
the first day of the Conference. Thoughout the week, Bibles, Leadership
Training Sessions were held with accompanying syllabus materials. Those
attending were given "This New Life" books as well as several of Pastor
Billy Joe's mini-books in Spanish. Over 30,000 of these books were given
away.
The Women's Conference had been advertised as teaching on "You Are
Valuable" and promised a gift to each woman attending. Women poured into
the arena for ministry and filled the air with praise and worship. The
whole place buzzed because it was filled to overflowing with women ready
to receive ministry and their free gift bag. The adult team had prepared
over 2,500 gift bags containing lotions, colognes, make-up and other
personal items. As they saw the multitudes pour in they rushed to fill
enough additional bags to assure that all the more than 4,000 women each
got a gift.
Victory, partnering with Pete & Peggy Sumrall and Feed The Hungry, was
able to distribute over 700,000 pounds of food to needy families in the
Dominican Republic. Local churches joined with us to help distribute the
food and assure that each family receiving food packages also received
prayer. The local pastors gathered information on each family so that
their churches could follow up with the families and continue to minister
spiritually to them. The shipment also included over 100,000 Spanish
Bibles to be distributed throughout the Dominican.
At the nightly open air meetings called "Celebrations" thousands of
people stood in line for hours before the meetings to get a coupon and
hand stamp that would allow them to collect a food package later in the
week. Each night the Victory team also handed out "This New Life" books in
Spanish. Over 150,000 of these books were given away.
The celebrations kicked off with jubilant praise and worship and flowed into
ministry songs and videos (sung mostly in Spanish) by Pastor Sharon Daugherty.
Pastor Billy Joe then ministered on salvation and healing miracles. After the
salvation prayer, many thousands of people raised their hands needing a healing
miracle. Pastor Billy Joe encouraged the people that were now believers to pray
for each other.
Many healing testimonies were given each night at the end of the service. There
were tumors dissolved, arthritis healed, blind eyes opened, hearing restored, a
man carried in on a pallet was able to walk after 3 years.
These two ladies were so excited about their miracles that they danced on the
stage. This lady had a tumor on her right knee for seven years. She had been
unable to walk or move well at all. After she testified she began to dance and
rejoice. (That's the one that danced with Pastor at the end of the video)
This lady had fallen off a motor bike fifteen (15) years ago and had doctors
told her that her spinal column was broken. She had been unable to walk since.
At the crusade she was able to get up and walk, and she danced and praised the
Lord.
